A resume is a one or two page summary of your education and work experience. A good resume is essential for your job search. It’s a quick way for your potential employer to get to know who you are and what kind of work experience you will bring to the job, so the most important thing to remember is that it should be clear, concise, well organized and demonstrate your competence.
There are different ways to format and organize information on a resume, but there are some guidelines that apply for all resumes.
Information should be up to date and show you have the skills required for the job. You should alter your resume for the job you are applying to: omit unnecessary information so that the pertinent skills have priority on the page.
Your resume is the first impression that your employer has of you, so take your time to prepare a resume that is well organized and professional-looking (which includes correct spelling and grammar).
