City Hall is one of Edmonton’s most striking buildings. Located on the north side of Sir Winston Churchill Square in downtown Edmonton, its neoclassical stature and unique glass pyramids hold our municipal government (composed of Mayor Stephen Mandel, and 12 councillors representing various city wards or districts).
Aside from the daily business of governing the city, the City of Edmonton provides numerous services that are essential to our quality of life.
Edmonton has one of the world’s best waste management and recycling systems; water treatment that provides safe and delicious drinkable tap water; programs for youth, seniors, families and people with special needs; recreational facilities and well maintained parks; pest management for mosquitoes and tree pests; a limited amount of commercial and residential property management; and Animal Services for lost pets.
